Unraveling Human History: A Deep Dive into the Iberian Lineage of the Flores Surname through iGENEA DNA Test

Family name Flores

Taking an iGENEA DNA test to uncover my ancestral history, I stumbled upon a thrilling journey across continents, time, and human evolution. Delving into the heritage of the Flores surname, the results reflect an intriguing narrative of Iberian roots, world explorations, haplogroups and diverse genetic intermingling.

Recently, I undertook an iGENEA DNA test to unravel the mysteries behind my hereditary lineage, specifically centered around the surname Flores. What followed were startling discoveries that rewrote the fundamentals of my understanding of my heritage, embedded deeply within the complex human genome.

Firstly, the test results posited my genetic roots in Iberia, covering modern-day Spain and Portugal. Thousands of years ago, persons bearing the Flores name migrated towards different parts of the globe, their genetic material spreading wide, forming a diverse geographical gene pool. Descendants of these seafaring adventurers later journeyed across the ocean to what would become the Americas, bringing the Flores name along with their unique Iberian genes.

The Flores genetic lineage, the test revealed, belongs predominantly to the Haplogroup R1b, the most common haplogroup in Western Europe. This haplogroup is believed to have originated over 9,200 years ago in the highlands of Central Asia, manifesting in the Flores lineage through the Iberian connection.

Depending on the region and specific family line, the Flores DNA also showed traces of Native American, African, and Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry, indicative of a complex and diverse ancestral background. Particularly in the Americas, the mixture of the Iberian genes with the native populations resulted in a rich genetic blend that many Flores descendants carry, captured wonderfully in the iGENEA DNA test.

The iGENEA DNA test results presented a fascinating portrayal of deep historical migration, boundless human adventure, and profound genetic blend—all carried in the Flores surname. For me, these scientific findings mean an enriched understanding of my roots, a newly discovered historical perspective, and most importantly, a deeper connection to the Flores lineage.
