Through an iGENEA DNA test, I got revelation about my ancestry linked to my surname 'Lundberg' and genetic heritage. The DNA analysis revealed a rich Scandinavian lineage, a deep-rooted connection to the Nordic Vikings, and a maternal link to the Sami people. This deep dive into my DNA underscored my connection to different corners of the globe, spanning from the Nordic territories to the Arctic Sápmi region, embodying the human story of migration, interconnection, and evolution.
I recently had the privilege of using an iGENEA DNA test to delve deeper into my family history, unfurl the mystery behind my surname 'Lundberg', and gain a better understanding of my genetic lineage.
My DNA results were a fascinating interplay of geography, human history, and deep genetics. The hierarchical representation of my genetic markers enabled an intimate peek into my ancestry, which, to my surprise, seemed a harmonic orchestra of variegated global influences.
The Y-DNA results pertaining to my paternal lineage revealed a strong Scandinavian influence, specifically a tie to Nordic Vikings. This wasn't especially surprising considering the Swedish origin of the name Lundberg, which translates to "mountain of groves." Further investigation unveiled a transition from hunter-gatherer societies to farming communities in the Nordics around 10,000 years ago.
Also noteworthy was the identification of the I1 haplogroup in my DNA, further cementing my deep-rooted connection to the Nordic people.
